3 Resolutions
I don’t know about you, but I love the new year.
A chance for a fresh start. A time full of new possibilities. The opportunity to start new rhythms. If you’re like me, you may have some things you want to accomplish this year—to get healthier, maybe, or to learn something new, or to find new ways to serve.
If any of those are on your list of resolutions, 1MISSION has your back. I’d like to invite you to participate in one (or more!) of these opportunities below!
Get Healthier
Bikes Fight Poverty is our annual cycling event, raising money to put families in homes. This year we’ll be riding 65 miles from the Arizona-Mexico border to Las Palomas Beach and Golf Resort in Rocky Point, Mexico.
If you register and start training now, you can definitely be ready by April 22 (at least I hope so, since I’ll be riding this year)!
Learn Something New
Everyone (yes, everyone) knows that 1MISSION builds houses. But we aren’t a construction company. We’re a community development organization.
There’s a lot of intentionality and meaning in those words, which is why Tim Hoiland (our Communications Director) and I wrote The True Story That Changes Everything: A Community Development Bible Study in Six Acts. While designed specifically for build trip participants, I’m going to be leading a six-week virtual study through this starting Wednesday, February 1 at 9am (Arizona time).
We’re publishing the e-book next week, so watch for that. In the meantime, let me know if you’re interested in being part of the study group!
Serve Others
Yes, of course, we do also build houses! And we’re always eager to host people like you at our basecamp in Rocky Point. Bring your family, a group of friends, a team from work, or a church small group.
Check out our trip calendar to see available weekends. Contact us if you’re interested in coming on a trip in 2023.
